About me

My name is Agnieszka, I work as Psychotherapist. I can give you a safe, confidential and reflective space in which you can share your troubled feelings and thoughts without judgement. I listen carefully and try to understand your past and present difficulties and needs, so that you can gain insight in your own emotions and behaviour, and gradually make changes where helpful. I'm a Psychologist & Psychotherapist registered with the Polish Psychological Association since 2004. I graduated from MA studies in Health Psychology at the University of Silesia, in Katowice.

I completed four-year post-graduate studies in Integrative Psychotherapy in Warsaw, as further professional development. I hold Master of Art in Psychology and post-graduate Diploma in Psychotherapy. I have registration in the Association of Christian Psychologists in Warsaw, in Psychotherapy Section.

I participated in Anger Management training and Solution Focused Brief Therapy workshop in The Institute of Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy in Dublin, Family Therapy Certificate.

Currently, I am training to obtain a certificate from the European Association for Psychotherapy which regulates professional standards for Psychotherapists throughout Europe. I registered with Psychological Society of Ireland (PSI) since 2014.

In my work I respect the ethical code of the psychotherapy profession. My work is supervised by psychotherapeutic associations to which I belong and regular supervision by a certified Psychotherapist and Psychiatrist with extensive experience in individual and group psychotherapy.

I have a few years of experience in psychotherapy treatment, regarding different symptoms and problems.

I work in crisis intervention and in individual psychotherapy or group psychotherapy, with adults presenting problems such as:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety Disorders
  • Psychosomatic Disorders
  • Obesity
  • Somatic Diseases
  • Co-dependency and Adult Children of Alcoholics
  • Trauma
  • Developmental Crisis
  • Emotional stress associated with treatment of infertility
  • Consultation on addictions
  • Bereavement

Additionally I specialize in psychotherapy of Adult Children of Alcoholics and Adult Children from Dysfunctional Families.

The therapeutic approach I adopt, utilizes and integrates the main contemporary psychotherapy approaches.

The main goal of psychotherapy is to strengthen and develop a person and help him or her to cope effectively with the symptoms and problems. Among other things that contribute to successful psychotherapy are: a safe, supportive respectful therapeutic relationship, incorporating insights into how childhood affected person's present, discovery and rebound from emotional trauma, overwork of dysfunctional cognitive schemas and dysfunctional behaviours. Personal development, which happens in psychotherapy is understood as the integration of all spheres of the human person: biological, emotional, volitional, behavioural and spiritual.

You need not, in fact cannot, teach an acorn to grow into an oak tree, but when given a chance, its intrinsic potentialities will develop. Similarly, the human individual, given a chance, tends to develop his particular human potentialities.
